Calling all elementary music educators - nominations for the 2027 All-State 4th & 5th Grade Chorus and 6th Grade Chorus open September 1!
The portal to nominate your 4th, 5th and 6th grade students for one of the All-State Elementary Choruses will remain open on September 1, 2026 and remain open until the deadline which is Friday, December 4, 2026 at 5:00 PM. Notifications of acceptance will be sent out via the nomination platform (nominate.ilmea.org) the following week.
There is no fee associated with nominating a student for one of the All-State Elementary choruses; students who are accepted into one of the Elementary All-State Choruses will have a $25 participation fee.
Since there is no audition associated with these nominations, it is important for you to use your professional judgment to rank the nominations for each ensemble your school in order of preference for acceptance (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.), as we may not be able to accommodate every nomination due to roster limit considerations. Please indicate the ranking for each student with the dropdown selection in Nominate.
Please note that each student should have their own number ranking for different ensembles (not your 1st ranking Voice 1, 1st ranking Voice 2, etc.). No ranking number may be repeated and there mat be no ties amongst your students.
You will rank all of your students being nominated for 4th and 5th Grade Chorus as one set and you will rank all of your students being nominated for 6th grade chorus as another set.
With the addition of our Junior All-State Chorus, be reminded that 6th grade students are eligible only for the Grade 6 Elementary Chorus; participation in the Junior All-StateChorus is limited to 7th and 8th grade students, even though you may have had 6th grade students sing in your district's Junior Chorus.
Please reach out to Frank Piekarz, Chorus Division President, at [email protected], or Taylor Beekman, Student Programs Manager, at [email protected] with any questions.
