HOW TO NOMINATE STUDENTS

  • You'll need to log into the nomination portal, and be sure that you have the correct school selected if you teach in multiple buildings.

  • Click "Custom Events" on the left hand side. 

  • Next, "Add a Custom Event Nomination" in the upper right hand corner. 

  • Then fill out your students' information and select Band or Orchestra.
    "Rankings" will help us select your students if we have too many nominations for an ensemble. Please choose a different ranking for each student that you nominate.

    Nomination Deadline: Friday, January 15th
    Participation Fee: $15, Music will be provided

Who is the festival intended for? 

This festival is intended for your 1st and 2nd year players who would really enjoy a festival experience and you would like to encourage to audition for festivals in future years. The music will be very attainable, and the clinicians are sure to be encouraging and exciting! 

Do I need to purchase any music?

No, music will be provided once the ensembles have been selected and parts have been assigned.

How do nomination festivals work?

Our nomination festival is new, and you may nominate as many students as you like.

There is no audition. In the nomination portal you'll be asked to rank your students, based on your own criteria. If we have too many entries, then we will cut students based on your rankings in order to balance the ensemble, while still accepting as many students as possible.

Once this process is complete, the music will be sent to you to distribute to your students.

I only see grade levels 6-12 in my nomination portal, and I want to nominate some 5th graders. What do I do?

If your 5th graders are in another building, you'll need to go into your profile in the nomination portal and add that school to your account. Each school will need to pay a participating schools fee. If you have 5th graders in your building, and this is just an error, please contact me, and we can have that corrected! Schools must only pay one participating school fee per building.
