Welcome to the 2025 ILMEA Emerging Leaders Conference!

Every few years, we ask our ILMEA Board members to nominate talented Illinois music educators to join us for two days of meaningful work and conversation.  Please know that you were nominated by someone who thinks highly of you as a music educator and sees you as a leader in our field.

This conference affords ILMEA leadership the opportunity to hear from a variety of voices about the current and future impact of ILMEA and challenges facing both our organization and profession. You represent the future of music education in Illinois, and your experiences and insights are so very valuable.

Our goal at every Emerging Leaders Conference is to allow our participants an opportunity to more deeply understand the vision of ILMEA and to help us chart our course forward for music education in Illinois. Many of our current Board members have participated in this event; It is our hope through these conversations that you will feel energized and ready to take on significant leadership roles within ILMEA. 

I can confidently speak for all of us on the Board of Directors when I say we are delighted to spend this time together with you.
