Welcome to the 2022 ILMEA Emerging Leaders Conference!
Every few years, ILMEA holds an Emerging Leaders Conference for those Illinois Music Educators that are influential in the field and motivated to potentially take the next step to be leaders within ILMEA. Many of our current Board members have participated in this event, and it allows the Board to hear from a variety of voices about the current and future impact of ILMEA and challenges facing both our organization and profession.
What makes this year's edition of Emerging Leaders so different is that we have asked the ILMEA Board for nominations of early service teachers, student teachers, and senior music education majors. Our goals this year are simple; to hear from you how we can better support the transition from collegiate student to music educator, to find out what information can be shared with our music education programs around the state, and to build a more cohesive bridge during this exciting time in your professional lives.
So, I speak for all of us on the Board when I tell you that we are excited to meet you, work beside you, and learn from you. Thank you so much for accepting our invitation to join us in Bloomington and we will see you soon!
