Jr. High Band, Choir and/or Orchestra: Join a community of junior high band, choir, and orchestra teachers as they discuss the strategies, challenges, successes, and changes in a post-COVID world. Webinars led by content-area experts and practitioners will focus on what matters most for long-term student success. Topics will include rehearsal techniques, retention and recruitment specifically for junior high programs, sustaining energy through the school year, and making music programs equitable and accessible for middle-school musicians. Jr. Band, Jr. Choir, and Jr. Orchestra will each have its own learning cohort with monthly webinars specifically targeted towards the content area. Also included in the webinar series are sessions that specifically focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI).
Elementary General Music: In this series, experts in general music will dive into topics that discuss creating meaningful student learning experiences based on how elementary students learn and how curiosity propels their engagement. This is a four-part series where participants will meet as a learning community to discover new practices for elementary students, expand teaching philosophies, and refresh knowledge practicing teachers have been using for many years. Participants will meet as a cohort, connect, network, and exchange ideas and experiences with other general music educators across the state. Also included in the webinar series are sessions that specifically focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI).
